Decorated Christmas Tree Project

9:00 AM

Today I wanted to share the Christmas craft that we are making as a part of our homeschooling group. This project is designed with several age ranges in mind and as with any project, feel free to adapt to your child/student's needs. Keep reading to see how we made this Christmas tree!

What You'll Need:

- Scissors
- Green and brown construction paper
- Paint
- Markers
- Q tips
- Glue

What To Do:

Step 1:

Begin by tracing your Christmas tree outline in the center of the green construction paper.

Step 2:

Cut out the tree shapes.

Step 3:

Cut out a tree stump rectangle or square from the brown construction paper. Line it up on the bottom of your tree shape to determine the proper size. Glue it either on top of the tree or under depending on the look you are going for.

Step 4:

With a green or black marker, begin drawing out lines that will represent the light strands for your decorated tree.

Step 5:

Take a q-tip and dip into the paint, press small dots on the lines to give a light bulb effect.

Step 6:

Alternate the colors as you see fit or make a pattern to your liking. Finish the tree by adding light bulbs to all remaining light strands.

Step 7:

Allow the trees to fully dry overnight before hanging for display. You may also add in a holiday message on your tree if you prefer.

The Final Product:
