Thanksgiving Menu 2016

To prepare for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to share my family's menu from last year. Keep reading if you are in need of some inspiration!

Main Dish:

This is my go to main dish every Thanksgiving. I prepare a cajun glazed turkey that I glaze every half hour. It is a simple yet tasty glaze that consists of peanut oil and paprika.

Side Dishes:

I look forward to this all year long, this is my homemade cranberry sauce with dried cherries.

A classic staple is homemade mashed potatoes with butter and seasonings.

My son is a huge pasta lover so I usually incorporate some form of a pasta dish each year. This time around I made rotini with a tomato and herb sauce.

Keeping with my roots, I prepare a cornbread stuffing that is extremely flavorful and packed with apples, onions, celery, and lots of poultry seasoning.

Steamed corn is a request every year from the kids, we do sometimes exchange this for peas or carrots.

Another family favorite are warmed Hawaiian rolls. I tend to pair these with a homemade honey butter spread.


We serve standard drinks like sweet tea, water, and soda. This time around I also included a pumpkin pie punch that was a big hit.


Our staple dessert every Thanksgiving is homemade pumpkin pie.

This was a new recipe that I tried out for rice pudding. It was absolutely delicious and one that I know we'll rotate in for other holiday menus.
