The Preparation

Before I baked it, one thing I immediately noticed was the extra liquid that was coming out of the sides. I had a feeling this part would end up burning while baking and I had planned to watch the cooking time close to make sure this didn't impact the overall moisture level.

As I thought, the edges were burnt where the extra liquid had seeped out. I am not sure if there is anything I could have directly done to avoid this but it didn't ruin the entire recipe so I just left it alone before going to the final step.

I only had about 1 cup of mozzarella cheese left and I know I could have easily needed another cup to fully cover the top but it came out fine despite the lack of extra cheese.

The Final Product & Review

This recipe is extremely simple to follow and really takes no time at all to put together. I enjoyed the smell of this baking as it instantly had a pizza like scent to it. I was a tad worried about the texture as I feel cauliflower has a lot of moisture in it and so I had assumed the breadsticks would be a bit soggy. To my surprise, the breadsticks truly had a bread like texture to them and while they were not crispy, they definitely had a firm but soft texture. I personally could have done without the extra cheese on top but it does add a bit more flavor to it.

As most people will want to know, can you taste the cauliflower? I would say overall, there is a lingering light taste of cauliflower but the majority of the flavor is like a piece of cheese pizza. I could see this being used as a pizza crust and passing quite easily. My entire family really enjoyed these and I know we will be serving them again and likely making pizzas out of the recipe next time.

Keep in mind that every month all of you get to decide which recipe goes into the next Pinterest Test Kitchen, so keep an eye out for next month's poll! If you are new to this series, every month I post a poll with four recipe options from my various Pinterest recipe boards. After one week of voting, the recipe with the most votes will be tested and reviewed by the end of the month. This helps me try something new and put my Pinterest recipes to good use.
