Minions Birthday Party Ideas

9:00 AM

We just celebrated my children's birthday and they requested a Minions theme. I decided to post some of the decorations and foods I served to maybe help inspire any of you looking for some ideas.

Decorations:

I decorated for the party using 50% store bought items and 50% that I made myself. Most of these decoration projects are just ones that I do for any party, I just used themed colors that go with the series.

The first thing I set up was a streamer curtain, using the yellow and blue colored theme, and a Minions helium balloon outside each of my kid's doors. This is a tradition we have done for some time, including a confetti blast during breakfast.

Throughout my entire house, I set up streamers and balloons with the same color theme. I placed these on our stair cases, around our mailbox, and in door ways. I also added in some banners from Walmart in between, you can get them by clicking here.

The last decorative touch was the main dining table. I set up themed napkins, cups, and table center pieces. Most of these were bought from Walmart which you can purchase through a similar kit by clicking here. I bought the plates, tablecloth, and utensils from the Dollar Tree and simply used the color theme instead of the character theme. I figure since these items ended up recycled/thrown away then I'd get more bang for my buck from purchasing them this way. I also set up a themed candy decor center piece using various candies also found at the Dollar Tree.

Food Stations:

I served various foods that weren't themed directly with the party, such as cheese roll ups, turkey and cheese sandwiches, veggie chips, corn on the cob, and party punch. I also served a dessert and snack section filled with some more directly themed items, I got the idea from RACKS and Mooby, click here to see her post.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I set up this themed birthday party and hopefully it inspires you to think outside of the box to make things more fun!

Down in the comments, let me know what theme your last party was.

As always any requests, questions, or comments are greatly appreciated. Talk to you soon!
