Hask KALAHARI MELON OIL Collection Review

9:00 AM

HASK hair care is one of the fastest growing beauty brands in 2016, so I knew when I was given the opportunity to try out one of their product lines that I couldn't resist. Today I want to give an overall review on four of their products that I have been testing out. If you have colored hair and want a product line that is made for you, then keep reading to check out one of my new favorite hair care brands!

The first products I tried were the shampoo and conditioner. I am reviewing the Kalahari Melon Oil line which is formulated with color shield complex, which helps protect color-treated hair from damage and fading caused by every day washing and heat styling. The Kalahari melon is found in the African desert and it thrives by retaining moisture. This powerhouse ingredient counteracts moisture loss and fading, leaving color-treated hair healthy and vibrant. The first thing I noticed with the shampoo and conditioner was the amazing melon scent, it definitely reminded me of a fresh watermelon and I was hoping to see the scent linger in my hair.

HASK Kalahair Melon Oil Color Protection Shampoo
The shampoo has an off white opaque color to it and the formula is quite thick, it carries a bursting scent of melons that is truly one of the best hair product scents I have tried in quite some time. The shampoo is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol, and artifical colors. I found that it did not take much product to get the clean feeling I wanted in my hair, and I do have fairly long hair at the moment. The formula did not feel drying nor did it irritate my scalp in any way. I really enjoyed how hydrating it felt as I often find shampoos to be far less hydrating than conditioners but this shampoo has a nice moisture balance to it.

HASK Kalahair Melon Oil Color Protection Conditioner
The conditioner had a very similar formula look to it but it was more pure white as most conditioners tend to look. It is also free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, gluten, drying alcohol, and artificial colors which is just amazing to have a natural alternative to the chemical ridden hair care products in so many stores now. The conditioner also carries the wonderful melon scent and it felt extremely moisturizing to my hair and scalp. I allowed this to set in my hair for about two minutes before rinsing and it felt as if I had used a deep conditioner or mask due to the amount of hydration my hair was gaining. After using the shampoo and conditioner, I moved on to trying the protection shine oil.

HASK Kalahari Melon Oil Color Protection SHINE oil
This SHINE Oil is lightweight and alcohol free. It instantly absorbs into your hair to help protect your color treated locks with no greasy residue! It can be used on both wet and dry hair to create a silky, smooth finish. To use this you simply distribute a coin-sized amount evenly through your hair, avoiding the roots. Apply as much as you feel you need. I used this immediately after my shower on wet hair, this was after using the shampoo and conditioner from the same line. This oil carries the same wonderful scent and it really sets into the hair beautifully, it gave me a great shine and distributed evenly into my hair without feeling overly greasy or sticky. I also used this after flat ironing my hair and found it helped keep flyaways under control and gave my hair a sleek look that lasted throughout the day. I love how easy it is to use and the amazing results I have had with it. I do wish it came in a pump style bottle as I feel it may be easier to get the product out without a mess or having to struggle to get the lid snapped on without leaking extra oil.

HASK Kalahari Melon oil Color Protection Deep Conditioner
The last product I tried out was the Deep Conditioner which is an ultra-restorative, hydrating treatment that will preserve and nurture color treated hair. To use this just apply a generous amount to clean, wet hair. Massage into hair focusing on damaged areas. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse well. Style as usual and repeat usage about one to two times per week, or as needed. I used this after re-coloring my hair and it felt like I had just gone to a fancy salon for a hair washing. This instantly brought back major life to my processed locks and I could tell it was healing the damage I had caused with the harsh dyes. I really enjoyed how silky the formula was and how much it instantly hydrates the hair. This was my favorite product from the line and one I know I'll be using often, it's easily the best deep conditioner I have ever used.

What's a full review without some proof showing the results? Well I have my before and after which was taken after only one week using this product line.

You can see in my after how my hair is more sleek and it looks far more healthy. The color in my hair is the same, it just looks brighter in the before picture due to the camera flash. The color in my hair has become more vibrant and I feel like despite me recently coloring my hair, my hair feels the healthiest it has been in a very long time. I am also happy to report that the amazing melon scent does linger in the hair even after styling and it has received quite a few compliments. I would like to go ahead and proclaim myself as HASK's #1 Fan! :)
