Pot Roast Recipe


What You'll Need


- 2 to 4 pounds of Angus Beef Chuck Shoulder Roast
- 1 tablespoon parsley flakes
¼ teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
½ tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon steak seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce


Preparation


Step 1:
Place your roast into a slow cooker, poke small holes in to meat in order to allow the seasonings to go all the way through. Begin by adding the Worcestershire sauce and then add each spice on top.




Step 2:
Set the slow cooker to low temperature and cook for a minimum of six hours. I typically let mine roast for about eight hours to get to my preferred temperature and to provide the fall apart texture that I prefer.




Step 3:
I sometimes will roast my beef with vegetables inside the slow cooker and typically will do so by adding a chopped onion to the bottom and then adding in chopped potatoes and baby carrots. Lately, I have preferred to roast the vegetables separately as I like the crispier texture that I get in the oven. Once your roast is done, if it isn't falling apart then simply slice into serving sizes. I usually just tear my roast with a fork and spoon as it is quite soft.





Step 4:
Serve alongside your choice of side or you can make these into sandwiches. I served mine with roasted baby carrots, onion, golden potatoes,and red potatoes. I add a homemade seasoning mix to my vegetables that contains several spices and fresh herbs. Then simply bake them at 475 degrees for about 1 hour.
