Valentine's Day Menu 2015

9:00 AM

Today I wanted to share with you my Valentine's Day Menu from last year. Most of these items are very easy to do and are inspired by several Pinterest pins which I will link to throughout this post. In our home, we celebrate Valentine's Day as a family by making themed food for the day, doing crafts, exchanging homemade gifts, and playing games. The best part is usually the food so keep reading to get some inspiration for your party this year!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

These are a staple dish for any Valentine's Day in my home, I make these every year and sometimes make them more special by shaping them into hearts. You can do this by simply cutting the strawberry in half and then piercing it together side by side with a toothpick. Then dipping into melted chocolate and adding a fondant heart on top. You can make these also by leaving the strawberries whole and dipping them into chocolate and cooling to fully set.

Red Velvet Crepes

One of our favorite options for a themed breakfast meal are these delicious crepes, I found this recipe through Pinterest and it is a must for our holiday now! Click here to get the recipe for yourself.

Pink Pancakes

An extremely simple way to mix up breakfast is by dying your typical pancake batter with pink or red food dye. Then instead of syrup, adding powdered sugar and whipped cream. We usually serve these with turkey bacon.

Heart Pizzas

This is the kid's favorite lunch or dinner option, which is incredibly easy to make. All you need is some pizza dough, pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. Simply make your dough according to the instructions, once it has rest, begin to take handful amounts of dough and then shape into a heart. If you prefer, you can use a cookie cutter to make it a tad easier to shape. Then add your topping and bake according to the directions, just watch for the bake time as these may bake faster due to being smaller.

Valentine Snack Mix

A great snack to have in between meals or to take on the go, this combines themed ingredients to give it that Valentine feel. Click here to view the full recipe which I discovered on Pinterest.

Valentine's Cupcakes

These cupcakes are a combination of half strawberry cake mix and half chocolate brownie mix, they are then iced with a basic vanilla buttercream and decorated with heart sprinkles. The original recipe was found on Pinterest but the site is no longer available.

Cupid's Floats

Our go to drink of choice for our party are these floats. They are not overly sweet but provide the perfect companion to any Valentine's party. The kids love making these as they watch them fizz up! Click here for the recipe.

I hope you found some tasty treats that inspire your Valentine's Day menu, in the comments below let me know which of the recipes you'd like to try out.

As always any requests, questions, or comments are greatly appreciated. Talk to you soon!
