Overall, this recipe is definitely on my new rotation for breakfast options! Not only is it simple to make but it turns breakfast time into a special treat as these pancakes are borderline dessert with how sweet they are. The biggest thing I wanted from these was for them to have some lingering taste of cake and they truly do. I would say you will find a good balance between your normal pancake batter flavor and yellow cake. Now these are very sweet, especially with the added glaze on top so you may want to adjust the amount of sugar used if you don't have a big sweet tooth.

These cooked just as well as any normal batch of pancakes and I found them to be light and not overly thick. I did not have almond extract on hand so I was unable to add that ingredient in, so not sure how much of the flavor profile would be different based on that missing ingredient. My kids were big fans of this recipe and had two servings to prove it! I really think this is a great way to mix up your normal breakfast routine and is simple enough that you could get the kids help too!
