Reindeer Ornament Craft

What You'll Need:

- Glue
- Chenille stem (pipe-cleaner)
- Scissors
- Pom pom
- Googly eyes
- Marker
- Felt

How It's Done:

Step 1:
Begin by tracing the shape of a hand, make sure you trace it as evenly as possible as this will be the entire body of the reindeer.

Step 2:
Once you are done tracing, carefully cut out the hand shape. Flip the shape upside down and glue on one of the googly eyes onto the thumb outline. The thumb will be the reindeer's head.

Step 3:
About 1 to 2 inches above the eye, cut a small slit to insert the pipe cleaner

Step 4:
Pull the pipe cleaner through the hole, then shape into whatever antler type you prefer.

Step 5:
Begin to decorate your reindeer body, you can start by adding a pompom as the nose and you can use more pipe cleaners to create an outline of the hooves and body. My children also used markers to create patterns on the body. This is where your creativity should take over and make it as unique as possible.

Step 6:
Let the reindeer fully dry, I let mine sit for about a day so everything can have time to settle. With the last step, you can either turn this into a puppet by simply attaching Popsicle sticks to the bottom for support. You can also make this an ornament by cutting another small slit into the top of the body and placing either a pipe cleaner or ornament hook. If your reindeer needs more support with the weight of any designs, then you can prop it up on the back with support Popsicle sticks.

Here are some other designs done by my children. : )
