Thanksgiving 2014 Menu

Today I wanted to share with all of you my Thanksgiving menu from last year. I tend to be fairly traditional with my menu but do like to branch out and try at least one new recipe a year. If you are interested in any of my recipes for my menu then please just leave a comment below and I'll be glad to share. I hope you enjoy getting a peek into our holiday meals!

Main Dish
Cajun Turkey
The star of the show is our turkey of course. I have used the same method for cooking and seasoning my turkey for about a decade now. This is my famous "Cajun Turkey", it is a combination of peanut oil infused with many spices, mainly lots of paprika. I baste my turkey every half hour and stuff it with fresh herbs and celery. This is by far the most moist and flavorful turkey you may ever try!

Side Dishes

Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce, Honey Butter for rolls, Fruit Salad

Broccoli Cheddar Casserole, Candied Sweet Potato Casserole

Dinner Rolls

Fresh Green Beans with Lemon seasoning
My sides change fairly often and mostly based on our guests preferences for that year. I always serve my homemade cornbread stuffing (not pictured) and my homemade cranberry sauce. Everything else changes around year after year.

Pumpkin Pie

Caramel Apple Pie
A lot like my side dishes, my desserts change with one staple. I always make homemade pumpkin pies and use my grandmother's recipe. For last year, I was requested to make an apple pie and I decided to make it a little more special by adding in a caramel sauce. I have previously made pumpkin cheesecake bars, pecan pie, and many other fall themed pies.

Down in the comments, let me know what staples you include in your Thanksgiving menu. I will be sharing our Thanksgiving menu from this year, so be on the lookout for that!

As always any requests, questions, or comments are greatly appreciated. Talk to you soon!
