My Review:

My overall opinion is that the recipe is extremely simple to follow and is a basic taco meat recipe with a twist using the wonton wrappers. My kids found them to be a bit too crunchy for their liking, so if you prefer softer shells then I would suggest under-baking them to avoid the wonton wrappers getting too crispy. I made some without cheese as well and found them to be quite dry, so cheese is definitely needed or substitute for some creamy addition to add back some moisture to the meat. With salsa added on top, it did help with the dryness a bit.

I could see my family making making these occasionally but this wouldn't be a go to recipe if we were in the mood for tacos. I think the idea is unique and again, is simple to follow so anyone could give this a try. Overall, this recipe is a great starting point and I'd love to see if I can bring even more to it next time I create it.

Keep in mind, every month all of you get to decide which recipe goes into the next Pinterest Test Kitchen, so keep an eye out for next month's poll! If you are new to this series, every month I post a poll with 4 recipe options from my many Pinterest recipes boards. After one week of voting, the recipe with the most votes becomes the one I test out by the end of the month. This helps me try something new and also put my Pinterest recipes to good use. Check out last month's recipe, Boston Cream Pie Cupcakes!
