This is a body bar that is used to buff away dead skin, made with real Pacific sea salt. I have the scent citrus splash and would describe it as more of a sweet citrus smell, to me it almost had a orange and chocolate scent to it. The scent was fairly strong but didn't last too long on my skin. The scrub itself seemed to work fairly well, though when used in the shower it can make your body quite slippery so be careful if using on your feet in the shower. It was very exfoliating and requires little pressure to really apply the scrub, it melts quite easily and can crumble if it becomes too wet or applied with too much pressure. Overall, I found it to work well and the scent was pleasant. The only thing I didn't care for is that after applied, there is almost a greasy feel leftover, it does rinse away but the texture was a bit awkward to me. I would consider purchasing the full set!

This is a sample of a full palette and I got three shades that are best described as a shimmery white, dusty rose purple, and a taupe with hints of pink. I found these shades to be the perfect combination for a Fall eye-look and they did apply with ease. They blend nicely and are quite pigmented, it does not take much product to get the look you are going for. I was really impressed with the overall quality of the formula and would consider purchasing the full size of this product!

This is a concealer crayon that contains a formula infused with coconut oil. I received a shade that is a bit too dark for my skin tone as I am quite fair and tend to be on the lightest shade for most face products. I did test it out and found it to blend nicely with little pressure needed, the coverage seemed decent but was difficult to fully test due to the wrong coloring. I could see this product working quite well and considering the price, I would consider this more high end. I have not tested many concealers so my pool for comparison is small but I find this concealer to work well and could see it covering up discoloration with ease. I would like to try this in my correct shade.

This is an all natural eye cream product that is an instant pick-me-up that reduces the appearance of fine lines and dark circles. Given the sample size, I can not fully test the claims of it helping reduce signs of aging around the eyes but I do enjoy the formula and the scent is light and pleasant. It did not irritate my skin and seemed to moisturize the under eye area quite nicely. I liked the idea that the product is all natural and does not contain any harsh chemicals or ingredients that are too foreign to me. I find this product to be something that I would like to try more of. I would consider purchasing the full size of this product.

This is a styler gel that is designed to leave curls touchably soft and crunch free while providing shine. I do not have curly hair naturally, my hair is more slightly wavy. I did not find this product to do much for my hair but that is likely due to my lack of curls. I have not tested this after curling my hair but would assume I may have better luck if I had curls to test on. The product was not greasy and did not weigh my hair down but it didn't do much of anything for my overall hair style. If this company had products geared more toward my hair type then I would be interested in trying more. I would not purchase the full size of this product.

This perfume has notes of sparkling blackberry mixed with a rich musk and wood. This scent is very masculine to me and while it does have notes that I would say work great for the fall season, this scent is not for me. I am one who leans toward more fresh and sweet scents, I guess you could say more "girly" scents. This almost reminds me of a man's cologne more than a woman's perfume. The scent lasts for quite awhile on the skin and can be quite overwhelming so apply lightly. Overall, I enjoy the idea of the notes and formula but the scent is not for me. I would not purchase the full size of this product.

The value of my Septmber Birchbox is $30.66.
I pay $10.00 a month for my subscription so I received an added value of $20.66.

Overall I am pretty in between about this box. I really enjoyed the eyeshadow trio and salt scrub but found some of the products to just not be properly geared toward my profile. I was disappointed that the concealer was not the correct shade for my skin tone so I will have to give my sample to a friend. I would hope to see more products that match my interests next month.
