Cherry Maple Glazed Chicken Recipe

Cherry Maple Glazed Chicken Strips*




What you'll need:
2-3lbs of chicken breast tenderloins
2 cups maple syrup
3 tbsp soy sauce
¼ cup dried cherries
½ fresh lemon
¼ to ½ cup sugar
Salt and pepper or steak seasoning to taste



Directions:
Step 1: Begin by making your sauce, combine maple syrup, soy sauce and cherries in a small sauce pan over medium heat.

Step 2: Squeeze juice from lemon into mixture, stir until combined.



Step 3: Once mixture is heated through. begin to add ¼ cup sugar and stir until dissolved. Taste and decide if extra sugar is needed. Cover sauce and remove from heat.




Step 4: Heat large skillet over medium-high heat. Place chicken tenders into well oiled pan. Season with salt and pepper or steak seasoning to your taste. Cook approximately 3 minutes per side or until browned.






Step 5: Once chicken is browned on both sides, slowly pour sauce over the chicken. Bring to a simmer, turn heat down to a low setting. Cover chicken and let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Checking sauce periodically and stirring if necessary.









Step 6: Plate chicken and serve with or without extra sauce.






On a side note, for this evening's dinner I served homemade mashed potatoes, cheddar bay biscuits, and corn as sides. I also tend to make rice pilaf with this but really any side goes quite well with the chicken!
